2. The "Report of National Central University Student Thesis Similarity Check" has been revised. Please download and use the updated form from the webpage of the Register Division.

3. The "National Central University Thesis Format Regulations" have been revised to include the following amendments:
(1) Reasons for deferred public access: Pursuant to Article 16 of the "Degree Conferral Act" and the "Guidelines for Submission and Archiving of University Theses and Dissertations in the National Central Library," the “submission” option in the old version of the National Central Library's "Application for Embargo of Thesis/Dissertation" has been removed. Deferred access may be granted for a certain period upon NCU’s approval under the following circumstances:
a. Confidential matters: Refers to national secrets. Relevant documentation must be attached or the “Statement for Deferred Public Access of Printed Thesis Deposited in the National Central Library” must be completed.
b. Patent matters: The patent application number must be entered in the application form. If the patent is still under review or there are concerns regarding the timing of a new technology release, the “Statement for Deferred Public Access of Printed Thesis Deposited in the National Central Library” must be completed.
c. Prohibited by law: The applicable regulations or concrete supporting evidence must be provided.
(2) Applications for deferred access must be signed by the thesis advisor and the degree examination committee members, verified by the department or institute, and officially stamped in the “Authorized Unit of the University” section of the National Central Library's "Application for Embargo of Thesis/Dissertation" (Apply Here).
(3) Each application to defer the public release of both the print and electronic versions of a thesis may not exceed five years and must be submitted separately for each extension. For applications beyond the first request, approval must again be obtained from all original degree examination committee members or confirmed by the department (institute) council before NCU submits the application to the National Central Library.
